French Silver Lily Pad Dish

Vintage French Silverplate

This little silver-plated dish stopped me immediately. Shaped like a lily pad, with a tiny stem curling from one side, it is just unusual enough. I love it filled with nuts or potato chips at cocktail hour, a few chocolates after dinner, or simply left empty among a collection of silver.

What Caught My Eye

There is a woman at the Porte de Vanves who sells the prettiest little silver pieces. She usually sets up near the Metro entrance, on the left side, and I almost always stop at her tables. This little lilly pad was tucked among the silver. I loved its shape immediately.
