Embroidered Vintage Cotton
When I was in Ninth Grade, my French teacher gave me a set of handkerchiefs for Christmas. She explained that they were a traditional--and necessary--gift in France. I have remembered them ever since.
This set of (6) soft cotton handkerchiefs is embroidered with a simple "S." They are a quiet little luxury: useful, understated and quite beautiful.

I found these on a bright Saturday morning at the market in Villeneuve-les-Avignon. The husband and wife team had stacks of linens to work through, and we chatted while I searched. I came home with my favorites -- including these.
