Pair of Vintage Silver Coupes

French Table Silver

These little silver coupes were traditionally used for ice cream in France.  I think they're much too useful to save for dessert.

I use pieces like these  for olives, nuts, potato chips or little bites with cocktails.  They add just enough silver to a table without making anything feel formal.  And, of course, ice cream is always a good idea.

There is a woman at the Porte de Vanves who always has the prettiest little peices of silver. She sets up near the Metro entrance, on the left, with everything from small serving pieces to Christofle flatware. I never pass her table without stopping for a look. These came home with me.
